Revisora

  1. SSpeak
  2. OOut
  3. RRevise
  4. AAnywhere

Four words in the name, one promise: your voice is all you need to revise.

How it works

A study partner that talks back.

Press Start once. After that, the whole session runs by voice, card after card.

  1. 1

    It reads the card

A natural voice, recorded once per card and prepared ahead, asks the question in your headphones.

  2. 2

    You answer out loud

Take your time. “Mmm, let me think” is fine. Stuck? It offers a hint that never gives the answer away.

  3. 3

    AI grades by meaning

Your wording doesn’t have to match. Not sure? It asks you. You can always change a grade by voice.

  4. 4

    Next card, scheduled right

Spaced repetition decides when you see each card again, so you review what’s due, not everything.

For Anki users

Keep Anki. Add your voice.

You don’t have to move your decks. Revisora fits in with how you already study.

  • Review AnkiDroid decks by voice. Your grades go back to Anki, and Anki keeps the schedule.
  • Import .apkg and .csv files as your own decks, scheduled with FSRS, the same algorithm Anki uses.
  • Export back to .apkg with cards, tags and schedule, so your decks always open in Anki.
  • Tags that don’t get in the way. Cards are tagged “voice” or “visual” under an FA parent tag, so they stay tidy in Anki.

Privacy

Your voice is for grading. Nothing else.

We state plainly what leaves your phone, here, in the privacy policy and on the first screen you see.

Spoken answers aren’t kept

They’re sent for grading only after you agree, deleted afterwards, and only sent to AI services that don’t train on user data.

Paused means private

While paused, the app listens for “resume flashcards” on your phone only. Nothing is sent anywhere.

No account needed

Install it and start studying. Your decks are yours, kept on your phone and backed up for your install so a new phone doesn’t lose them.

Images stay on your phone

Image cards are shown on screen. They’re never sent to AI or described by it.

Everything that leaves your phone
  • Your decks and cards (stored on our servers so they survive a reinstall)
  • The text of your answers and of the card being graded
  • Hesitation numbers (how long you paused before answering)
  • Usage and cost of AI, voice and transcription calls
  • Your country (never your precise location without your explicit permission)
  • If you send feedback: its text, an optional reply email and app diagnostics, which you see before sending

Content is only analysed in aggregate, as described in the privacy policy.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Do I need to look at my phone at all?

No. Press Start and put your phone away. The app reads each card, listens to your answer, grades it and moves on. You can repeat, skip, pause and change grades by voice, or with your headphone buttons.

What if the AI grades me wrong?

Just say the grade you want, like “again” or “good”, and it changes. You can also switch to Ask-me-first mode, where it suggests a grade and waits for you to confirm.

Does it work offline?

Grading needs an internet connection. If you lose signal during a session, the app waits and carries on from the same card when you reconnect. After 5 minutes offline it ends the session and saves your progress.

Is it available on iPhone?

Android comes first. The iPhone version will follow after version 1.

Which cards work by voice?

Text cards, including LaTeX math, which is read aloud. Image cards and very complex formulas are tagged “visual” and shown on screen. Cloze (fill-in-the-blank) cards are skipped for now.

Will it replace Anki?

It doesn’t have to. Review your AnkiDroid decks by voice and your grades go back to Anki, or import your decks and let Revisora schedule them. You can export to .apkg any time.

Speak Out. Revise Anywhere.

Put your headphones in and press Start. Revisora is coming to Android soon, with iPhone to follow.
